I have agreed to a f&f settlement with Lowell for a Halifax debt from about 3 years ago, they keep saying they have other linked accounts which need resolving and they want to split my payment across the 3.
I have said in writing that no i want it off the Halifax debt as i dispute the others.
Anyway, the 2 debts are not on my credit report and im pretty certain they are about 7 years old maybe more?
What can they do? Im trying to improve my credit reports so dont want a ccj or anything!

What is your reason for disputing the other debts ?
You need to follow specific procedures to dispute a debt, you cant just say you dispute it without giving your reasons.
You should complain to either Lowell, or the original creditor, depending on the nature of the dispute.
If you are saying you believe the accounts are statute barred, then you send the SB letter to them.
If you are not satisfied with the response you get, then the financial ombudsman is your next step.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. They can't do that.
Until you get confirmation in writing that it's to settle the one you agreed, don't pay anything.:beer:0
