Capiscain is extracted from red peppers, so adding red peppers to your cooking might also help.
Peppers are from the nightshade family and are recommended to be avoided if you're following the autoimmune protocol like I am. I've cut out citrus, nightshade plants (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, aubergine) gluten and alcohol along with most dairy and have seen some amazing results. I have several autoimmune conditions including RA in my fingers, ankles, feet and back and have been off medication for over 6 months now after starting the autoimmune protocol last June. I use turmeric to make the majority of my cooking sauces - there are lots of recipes on pinterest.
