Was the bank transfer labelled 'Child Maintenance for X'? That could pose a problem as she could say that it wasn't CM but money you owed her. Anyhow, a reassessment would only go from the date she contacted them so if your case is closed then a retrospective assessment wont be done.

Also, you cant have a private arrangement and a case open with the CSA. Are you sure you're case is closed? Have you had confirmation of this?

If you haven't had confirmation that the case is closed then you need to keep paying. They could backdate arrears if you haven't informed them of pay increases - there is a thread on here from a couple of days ago where its been backdated 4 years I believe. Is there a reason you haven't kept them up to date with pay increases?

If you have a case open then you do not have a private arrangement - you just direct pay. A private arrangement is no CSA involvement at all.

Sounds like you're heading for a problem to me. If you had a CSA calculation and then you have paid less then that because your ex discounted it from you having kids overnight then technically there are arrears.
