Has anyone heard of strawberry.net.com

My friend and I have found this seemingly fab website called strawberry.net.com which sells everything from perfume to cosmetics to beauty products. We love our designer makeup and this site offers free delivery, a free lipstick for new customers, and a 5% discount when you buy 3 items or more in one order. The discounts are great too, my friend is into her perfume and says that some of the items are absolute bargains. The only reservation I do have is that they have a notice saying that while some countries allow free trade on the internet and do not charge a tax or customs duty (the UK wasn't included on this list) some countries will charge a small tax/customs duty. They also say that out of goodwill they do reimburse customers for this tax upon recieving a receipt. Does anyone have any experience of this company and how would we find out how much the taxes/custom duty would be. Knowing our luck we will save £20 on the products but end up paying double that in taxes!

I've used them before - I think the customs charges came to about £16 but they refunded them without a fuss. Good company, not heard of anyone having any problems with them.
  • would love to try that.

I get all my make-up and skincare from them and they are brilliant, cheap, quick and the products are great. I have had to pay customs a couple of times - think its if the value of your order is over £30 ish - but you claim the money back and its refunded back to the card that you paid for you order with. All good in my experiences.

Yes - used them several times - very quick shipping from Hong Kong: delivery less than 1 week. Also have a loyalty scheme where the more often you order, you get a small discount - initially only 1% but eventually reaching 10%.

Tip - delivery is included in the price, so there is no benefit in ordering more than one item. So, order one item at a time. You climb up the loyalty discounts more quickly and have less risk of a customs charge.
  • Yep..also used in the past. Was very sceptical, especially about them refunding the customs charge but it was sorted with no fuss. I think it took a few days (so I was getting a bit worried) but it was absolutely fine. Would recommend.
PS>.Just to say that if there is a customs charge then the item won't be delivered to your home but the postie will stick a card through your door and you'll have to collect from the sorting office and pay up. Despite this though it was still WAY much cheaper buying from them than buying anywhere else.

Used strawberry.net quite a few times now and really pleased with them. As you say they seem to offer very cheap prices, and a good service. Not been caught out with import duties as yet, but not concerned as I know that they would refund them if that ever happened.
  • ive use them too and had no problems, didnt have to pay tax either

Thanks guys for all of your replies, I have now ordered with peace of mind and can't wait to get my hands on my Christian Dior goodies. I love their makeup, a little expensive but lasts for ages and oh so lovely!
