Have I come close to getting an overdraft rather then a 'payday loan'?

Thank you for applying for a planned overdraft

All heat of the moment, when I thought it was going so well! household CPA on bill caught me, am flaming that my phone bill was taken less then 3 weeks later but that's another issue! jeez I'm jinxed!!!
Back to what I'm asking if I decide not to go ahead with the above, (not sure I need the help now!) am I best leaving it so many months, I also abandoned a short term loan top up as I just thought I'd try the bank, as sick of hurting myself - normally been declined outright with bank before so does this bring hope? Or should I just call? was more worried about protecting my bank account going into the unauthorised overdraft on this occasion

    Hi keep calm....... keep calm!!!

your post is a little confusing but i see you posting on these boards. you know what you are doing so relax and work it out.

If you have been caught on the hop by bills then your budgeting needs more focus, make sure you identify and plan for everything.

get the kettle on and relax.

  • Overdraft is no doubt cheaper than PDL but that email doesn't confirm you'll actually get an overdraft, just that they've received your application.

Yeah thank you, I am thinking it is a waste of time, that it was a likely "nice no" just intrigued & nosey really as to what they are wanting to know! like I say screen before with bank has always been an instant no!

I've managed to get a tiny refund on the CPA issue with BT once I'd taken a complaint up with them as to why they thought it ok to take payment early so that's something to be grateful to a payday loan lender for who have fortunately somewhat better standards when it comes to use of the CPA I've found

    Humble thanks!

Edit, yeah spent an hour waiting for the bank overdraft department to pick up now no answer as it's just before closing guess I'll never know! that's an hour lost! understand easily why people go elsewhere..

If the overdraft application is rejected, and you go into an unauthorized overdraft. Contact the bank or better still go into your branch, if its the first time it's happened the bank will usually waive the overdraft charges but you will have to contact your branch.
Just try not to let it happen again, on the second occasion you may not be so lucky
