Where can I buy shoes that don't rub my little toe?

Has anyone got any ideas? I think my feet are a bit too triangular!:o

Every pair of shoes I own seems to rub. I bought a pair of Clarks boots in a wide fitting.. they still rub... now I'm looking for some everyday flats / low heels (but ones that are pretty enough to wear with dresses, rather than trousers) and I'm struggling.

Has anyone else got triangular feet, and if so, have you found any brands that are better than others?

thanks in advance! :)

I have really wide feet and have got some nice flats from Evans in an extra wide fitting and also Shoe Tailor online have a good range of pretty shoes. The wide fit in Clarks is only one fit wider than standard fit so you might need a little extra space for your toes. I have a Mary Jane style I wear with skirts for work, a kitten heel for evenings and nights out and some bright suede flats for everything! I spent the most money on my shoes because I like to be comfortable and my feet support the rest of my body so it's an investment in me:)

Hi skint_chick, have you actually bought from Shoe Tailor before? Their shoes look like a really reasonable price and there are some lovely kitten heeled shoes there I'm eyeing up! I always find it almost impossible to find decent/pretty kitten heel shoes on the high street. It's either 5 inches high or a trainer! Really frustrating.

I've bought a couple of pairs from Shoe Tailor, they are good quality for the price and they do have a good range. I usually wear flats as I'm really tall and very clumsy but I got a great pair of heels that are about 2 inches high from them last year and they're well cushioned too. Zero foot pain. The good thing is you can order a few options and they have free returns for the ones you don't go for. I'm an E or EE fit and a size 9/9.5 so it can be tricky getting pretty shoes that I can wear comfortably. I also got some lovely black suede Hush Puppies flats but they were really expensive - £50 - but they still look like new 3 years later so I can't complain too much!

  • I'd looked at the Shoe Tailor, but am not keen on buying shoes online, as I always seem to need different sizes in different brands. I will try evans though, thanks, hadn't thought of them!

Brilliant. I'll have to put in an order so! :)
My problem is my calves are too big so I can never find proper boots that fit me. I usually buy from Duo Boots but they're really expensive. If Shoe Tailor is any decent I'll be delighted.

foreign correspondent - it is daunting buying shoes online but as skint_chick mentioned, you can return them for free if they don't fit. So it wouldn't be the end of the world. Evans are good though, I've bought from them in the past and they have nice fitting shoes.

Please do not laugh too loud! I have these slipper shoes in red, purple, & gold, & they're sooo comfy. http://www.pavers.co.uk/stretch-fit-textile-slipper-with-outdoor-sole-ss40522p1

They're nice to wear with a long floaty dress, or with your jeans or trousers. Although they don't look very wide, there's loads of give in them due to the stretchy material. I'm sick of searching for comfy shoes, I usually just go from boots to sandals or flip flops.
  • No laughing here - I can see how they would work with jeans or along shirt, I think they would look quite cool - but I tend to go for more of a slightly retro / 50's aesthetic - I cant wear long skirts without looking like a lampshade sadly - so they wouldn't look right with my clothes. However, like you I tend to go from boots to sandals too!

I have given up with shoes, they don't accommodate my massive bunions, and I am not a fashionista anyway. I have about ten pairs of boots for all occasions. Stuff being trendy, it's comfy all the way for me now. :)

I know exactly what you mean. I have lost count of the number of pairs of shoes I have barely worn because they crush my little toe. I don't feel it at first but by the end of the day, my little toes are bright red and really sore. Then it's too late to take the shoes back to the shop for a refund.

It has taken years but I now stick with Timberland wide fitting. They make some pretty shoes as well as boots. Their sales are very good. My feet are also a perfect fit in 'Duckfeet' which are a Danish company. Free delivery from Denmark by parcelforce. The shoes are about £100 a pair, but you will wear the life out of them, so it will be worth it.

If you're not an EEEE fitting like me, and can wear an EE, then 'Hotter' make some very pretty shoes as does 'Pavers'
