Gents,
I largely followed BODMAS's letter to IAS (follow this link: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5195073
Edited his letter in a few area's for my individual case, namely time frame as I got my PCN promptly and also expanded on signage as they are no lights for the signs at Humberside and lots of current roadworks, otherwise it was very similar.
Anyway got the email today
Dear XXXXXXX,
Thank you for your recent appeal to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS).
We have received the outcome of your appeal and the IAS can inform you that your appeal has been successful. This means that Vehicle Control Services Ltd has cancelled the ticket with the details below:
Parking Charge Number (PCN): VCXXXXXXXX
Vehicle Registration: XXXXXXXX
Date Issued: 06/02/2015
As the parking charge has been cancelled you do not need to take any further action and the case has been closed.
Yours sincerely
The Independent Appeals Service
As extra's I uploaded the very large appeal letter as a word document on their website, I also scanned and uploaded the initial PCN and VCS rejection of my appeal to them which included the initial pictures of the alleged offence. I expanded on the signage as stated which if you drive past the airport there is no way in the world you can see any signs on entering never mind read them.
I didn't state who the driver was or acknowledge at any time who drove the vehicle, the driver on this occasion was my elderly father using my vehicle registered to me, the incident lasted 1min 30 sec's and was at night. They haven't given the reason for the successful appeal, if anyone in the know thinks there are benefits I could enquire but if not I'll leave it.
I'd like to thank everyone for their advice in this little victory for the consumer.
Andy

That smacks of VCS cancelling the ticket and IAS not bothering to adjudicate on your appeal. (Means IAS can add it to their "appeal upheld" pile without having to justify why, so reducing their exposure to having their adjudications picked apart).0
