Power plate...where to buy cheaply?

My gym have had a power plate (big vibrating plate which speeds up the effects of exercise apparently!!) for a month now and I have been amazed at the results. Combined with an exercise programme and healthy eating it has really helped me tone up and is brilliant for abs work...but there are only a few of us who use it and they just can't justify the price so it s going back.
I really think this machine is fantastic and having never bought a piece of home gy kit in my life I now want to have one in my home as there are no other gyms near me with power plates.
I have seen some on ebay around about the £200 mark and similar price in Argos but just wondering, firstly, whether these at home power plates are anyway near as good as their professional counter parts and secondly where can get the best value for money deal at the same time as getting as a useful piece of kit. I'm assuming that the cheaper versions vibrate less quickly and therefore less effect?
Any help much appreciated!

Hi,
Well, I assume your gym uses the offical Power Plate vibration machines? There are several models of these plates, some designed for home use, others for commercial - i.e. in gyms. The technology is the same as far as I'm aware and the only differences are that the commercial ones are designed for heavier use etc. There are also alternatives to Power Plates, which I reckon are what you've seen on eBay. These can be had for a couple of hundred pounds but I've no idea how good these are!
You can read up on Power Plates and get more information on their web site which is www.powerplate.com and you can get the cheapest home use model, the my3, currently for £995 from here www.gymsystems.co.uk
I've also seen these in John Lewis if you wanted to go and take a look at one.
Cheers.

I've also found some more information here, if you're still looking for some: vibration training plate information.
Cheers.

Here is a site which compares best prices available for the top Vibration machines including the power plate brand - http://www.powerplates.org.uk
The compare page displays all the current top brands models so you can compare common features. http://www.powerplates.org.uk/compare/
The Vibration Machines are a great alternative to gym equipment, especially designed for people with limited time and would like to reduce the workout time but get the same results. Many of the top sports professionals and high profile celebrities are now using these for either training preparation, quick results, and recovery from injuries.
Hope this helps
Thanks
