Trouble getting a mortgage due to Default Notice

Hi all
I have had a default on my credit file since 2012. It was my Tesco CC and they defaulted me on £24. I came to an agreement with them to settle my CC and this was done within 6 months. However, I have requested that they remove this from my file as Im trying to get a mortgage but with no luck and they have point blank refused. I do think I can get this removed but don't know how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If they refuse and it's accurate then there isn't much you can do. The whole point of a credit report is to show an accurate picture of how you manage accounts, otherwise everyone would be have great credit.0

What date in 2012 and what loan to value are you trying to get?
Get past the 3 year anniversary and/or a 15% deposit and this gets a lot easier.I am a mortgage broker. There will be lenders for this.
Because of the amount and it being a 1 off im sure there will potentially be high street rates available to you. But I would suggest speaking to a broker. Im sure there will be adverse lenders who will accept it but that could be a little like using a hammer to crack a nut... depending on the rest of the case.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. So this was a single missed payment of just £24 ?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Its 3 years in December coming. Probably looking for £180,000. My husband and I with our salaries can get over this but the house we need is around about this price. That sounds really hopeful. Thank you.0 -

A default notice is a letter issued to warn you that you risk a default registered against you if you don't rectify your conduct on a contract governed by the Consumer Credit Act.
A default is usually only registered when you fall three or more months into arrears.
If you have not already done so, obtain all three versions of your credit file and establish what exactly is registered against you.
A single missed or late payment is not a default.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. My husband had a CCJ on his file and after much stress we did manage to get a really good mortgage deal with a high street bank. Just be upfront with them before you make an application and see what they say.0
