Concessionary Purchase Lenders

Afternoon All and Happy Easter :easter:

You may remember from my previous posts (can't post link - sorry) that my husband and I are planning on buying a house from my MIL, who will be gifting 10% of the purchase price to us as a deposit. I'm reliably informed that this is a concessionary purchase/family discounted purchase (thanks kingstreet and amnblog).

We've got an appointment with a mortgage broker next Monday, but in the meantime I'm keen to do as much research as possible. I'm having trouble finding out which lenders offer mortgages on a concessionary purchase though so was hoping someone on here might know?

So far I've asked Nationwide (no, due to their mutual status), HSBC (can't tell me without booking an appointment with a mortgage adviser there), and Santander (who say they do but I'm not convinced the guy in the branch knew what I was talking about!).

I found a thread on here from last year where Santander were the lender, and Skipton define a family discounted purchase so I guess they do, but there must be others?

If anyone knows and can let me know that would be great as then I can compare rates I find with those the broker finds next week. He's happy for me to do that as he's not whole of market (he said some lenders don't allow introductions).

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me :)

  • Thanks for the link kingstreet :)

I guess the list of lenders I can use is a secret reserved for those who need to know as I can't imagine the lack of responses is because of the sunny weather :rotfl:

You will not get a lender being named by a broker as they are not in receipt of your information. Quoting lenders in unhelpful as you may not fit criteria.

Engage a broker and see how you go from there.
