Fishmongers in Aberdeen?

I'm a bit sick of paying supermarkets for rubbish fish. I was looking for a local fishmonger who has a good choice. Does anybody know if any of the fish houses still supply to the public?

There's Nicolls in Rosemount Place, it was one of my dad's favourites if I remember correctly.

There also used to be a fishmonger in the lower level of the Aberdeen Market, not sure if they're still there - it's been a while since I've been in that area.

I think the fishmonger in the market went pretty downhill a couple of years ago if I remember correctly. I'll have a look at Nicolls, thanks.

There is a fairly new fishmonger (opened last year sometime?) attached to one of the fish houses behind Union Square. A friend used it recently ad was pleased with the quality.

    Its A G Duff & Partners - Fresh Fish Shop, open Tues-Fri 10-5 and Sat 9-12.

Its on the corner of Stell Rd and Poynernook Rd - Blue building, opposite Enquest offices.

Come to Torry where there are several fishhouses supplying to the public. Crombie road is a good one as is Cable lane.

It's a bit further out, but my parents used to use a small, family-run, fish house in Peterhead near the harbour, but that closed last year when they couldn't do the building works required by the health inspector.

My mum's now found an alternative fish seller somewhere else, but it's on an industrial estate.

Thanks everyone, someone told me that the fish houses had stopped selling to the public some time ago, which is why I was unsure. I'll nip down this week and have a look.

I noticed a new (or newish) fishmonger on Rose St today - on the left on the second block after you leave Union St.
