Overpaying on NatWest Mortgage - Paying online?

Hi, I have just started a two year fixed product with NatWest. I wish to overpay, and have set up online with them a regular overpayment amount.

I wish also to throw smaller sums as and when at the mortgage. (Don't worry, going to get nowhere near the 10% before fees kick in.)

My question is this:

Does anyone have the bank details for making an online bank transfer to my account? Nattiest say online I have to ring to make overpayments, which is a bit of a PITA for me with my work hours.

Is my mortgage account number with Natwest a proper account number I can use for online payments? And if so does anyone know the sort code I need to use.

Thanks.

    Hi,
I will be in same situation soon. So will be following your thread.

Also, thinking not to overpay monthly or one off of the 2 year fix rate 2.29% mortgage as have a Santander 123 current account on OH's name and tax free. So will be getting full 3% interest every month we save instead of overpaying. That way we will have savings as well in case we need anytime. Just before the 1st mortgage anniversary will overpay a one off payment saved in the 123 current to use the yearly limit of overpayment.

Hi I ring them whenever I want to make an extra overpayment, normally on a Sat due to my work hours, have never asked about another way to do it! Its normally pretty quick process when you ring.

    Best of luck,

I overpay RBS (they use exact same systems) using sort code and account number direct from online banking as and when. Ring them and ask for the details and the exact ref to use. Then make a £1 payment and wait for it to show on your online statement (takes like a week sometimes) so you know it's set up right.

Note for me an overpayment of £1k or more and they automatically recalc your monthly payment to be lower.

Thanks. I will ring next week and try and extract the info from them. I want to throw extra money here and there at it and don't want to ring up each time I want to pay an odd £10 here or there.
