No, prices have been pushed up by buyers.
Banks have nothing to do with it.
Politicians do, but indirectly - by doing things like letting 7 million people into the country without admitting to it or making housebuilding easier, and by robbing pensions so that property looks like a better investment.
If you think prices are too high, refuse to pay them. If you're right, everyone will agree with you and prices will fall.0 -
