Hi
I am posting it on behalf of my son. Here is a message from him.
"I am studying marketing and I am currently doing my dissertation. I need to get 200 participants which is turning out to be a bit of challenge. It would be extremely appreciated if you could spare a few minutes to complete my survey. It is not long at all. I am especially interested in people aged 35-55 (I class as generation X) as I am short on them, although surveys from people aged 18-34 (generation Y), are also very helpful as I still need some."

Thank you for taking time to help out.

Why is he being ageist in the age bands?
That is why is anyone 56+ thought unworthy of consideration?
I suspect that omission will be noticed!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Hi
No he is not ageist, he is following the brief, methodology etc to gather the information he needs to compare two different 'Generations' - Y (18-34) and X (35-55). The same could be said about children & young people under 17 years as they have far more spending power than in years gone-by.
The analysis from this survey is is only a small part of his 10,000 word assignment/dissertation and will be added to the other findings he has made and will help him to finalise his work.
Although I have done an element of marketing within my own job, what he has learnt has by far surpassed what I know and during my conversation about this survey and his dissertation I have learnt a lot about the use of Generations X, Y, Z and Baby Boomers (the 55+ age group), plus a lot more about marketing methods, analysis etc etc than I have never considered.
I hope I have explained this ok as I am on a learning curve about this myself.
Thank you to those who have helped my son out by completing his survey and please keep them coming.
Thanks
Wendy0
