Hello everybody (slopes in sheepishly!)
I still read and follow diaries but I've not done my own for a while but I thought it was time to have somewhere to focus my thoughts, make some plans and sets some goals - so here goes!
Over the last 12 months I've made some progress, paying off Frasercard and Luma Card. I have done a 'life of balance' transfer to Barclaycard @ 6.9% for my Capital One and Next accounts leaving me with a £5k plus balance, and my £1200 overdraft. I also still have about £5k of my original debt sat with DCA's reducing interest free each month, slowly but steadily so I'm not really worrying about that at the moment. I now have 'pots' for hols, Christmas and car insurance and this month I have finally started an emergency fund - only £25 a month at the moment but it's a start! I know some people say don't save when you still have debts but my 'pots' have worked for me over the last 12 months so I am sticking with them for now!
My job has been very full on in the last 12 months and has taken over my life some what causing me to neglect other areas like my fitness and home
. Today is day four of five days off, the first since Christmas, and have made me realise I need a bit more balance in my life. I had a gym and swim on Thursday, ran and read on Friday, and then nails and some retail therapy yesterday! :j. Today's plans include a run and a roast!
I am going to Barcelona in 2 weeks and running the Manchester 10k in 5 weeks so they are my short terms goals. My longer term goals are to lose a stone, pay as much off Barclaycard as I can - as quickly as I can, revamp my apartment, get some sunshine - whilst getting some balance and having some fun!
. Feel free to come along for the ride!

How many shoes do you have shoe gal? I just counted mine and I want you to make me feel better! lol
Best of luck with your debt free journey, I think if your pot system is working for you then stick with it! I know that some go through their journey all guns blazing, but this isn't the best way for everyoneI know I give myself slack
Oh and good luck with the weight loss!0 -

hello Lovely
Just dropping in to say hi
happy Easter xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Some baking and a run was accomplished yesterday, and then a lovely roast at my mum's.
I've done some tidying up this morning, was reading something the other day about making your home a place you want to be! Made me think as I don't really do that and the article had it as one of 15 (I think!) things for a happy life. Food for thought there!
Going to run in a bit and the do some errands before going out for dinner with a friend tonight. Five days off has been fab but seems to have gone really quickly!
Paid Frasercard this morning - another shoe purchaseand found £6 Tesco vouchers while I was tidying up! Little homeware treat methinks!

It's been a mad week at work with a couple of 12 hours days
. Am now set up to work from home, time will tell if this is good thing or a bad thing!
I've just had 12 hours sleep which was much need and have booked myself in for a manicure this afternoon as a treat
However, I have a massive to do list for the weekend including a load of work stuff. I've not managed any exercise this week and my eating has been awful so I'm keen to get out for a run too

Whoops - didn't realise it was long since I'd posted!
Barcelona was amazing, really loved it! Fab place, fab food, a little bit of shopping and a few cocktails :j
But back to a mad week at work and something strange with my salary/tax code! My salary was lower than normal by a few hundred pounds and payroll say it's to do with my tax code! I have an odd 'K' tax code which the website seems to indicate paying back tax? I've had nothing from the tax office and no change in salary or circumstances so no idea what's happened! Tax office are impossible to get through to, after holding for ages it cuts off so have had to email them - 15 working days for a reply! It's going to be a tight month!
10k next Sunday and I'm really not prepared! Am not feeling to well, I seem to be exhausted all the time. Decided to try some iron supplements but if there's no improvement I will need to go to the doctors I think. Have put more weight on too so I think it's time to try to improve my diet and get a bit more work/life balance
Am in a bit of a strange mood - feel I need to make a change but I'm not sure what! Feeling a bit lonely, stuck in a rut - and the tiredness isn't helping! Oh well, sure I'll figure it out!
Off to meet a friend for dinner now, maybe a 'putting the world to rights' session will help, one way or another?Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0
