After looking at the admission prices I'd have thought I WAS buying St.Paul's Cathedral!

If you're looking for somewhere to go for a cup of tea or a snack close to the cathedral I can recommend Cafe 101 in the basement of the Salvation Army headquarters located just before before you go on to the Millenium Bridge.

We stumbled across it by chance and it was great, lovely food and staff.

I see what you mean - although it does seem to be a fully inclusive price of guides, audio guides, tours and all the areas you might want to visit.
At these prices it doesn't encourage you to pop in and have a quick look does it !

    Certainly doesn't.
You need to commit some time.

It's fantastic that museums in London are free because it does enable you to pop in for a short visit knowing you can go back later.

I love the British Museum, and if I am in London and have an hour free I often pop in and check out a couple of rooms - or just sit and soak up the atmosphere of the Parthanon Marbles (Elgin).....
    But if I had to pay £15 - £20 a time I wouldn't be doing that.
