Chromium supplements for sugar cravings?

Just wondering if anyone has had any success with Chromium supplements for reducing food/sugar cravings?
My cravings have been out of control recently and have decided I have nothing to lose by at least trying them. Am interested to hear if anyone else has found them useful?
Thanks in advance.

Have a look at Chromium supplements on Amazon UK. Lots of user reviews on there specifically mentioning sugar cravings.0

Calling chromium a supplement is questionable as I don't believe it has any known biological role in humans. Personally, that makes me doubtful about taking it.
Not sure if it does anything to sugar cravings. I did have bad sugar cravings in the past however, and I found sticking with not eating sugar for a few weeks worked in the end. They passed, but I had to be determined to get through it.0 -
IME chromimum has an effect that helps reduce blood sugar levels - So it might actually worsen any cravings/desire for sugar to help replenish the levels.
Its not a major dro though but a cycle of regular excercise and a chromimum supplement helped keep my blood within healthy type-2 range for a lot longer than the medics expected - over fifteen years all-in before I finally progressed to needing insulin.0 -
I take it daily (along with around 8 other supplements). I follow a low carb diet and the combination makes it easy. I believe it matters which kind you get. I get it from healthspan.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

I tried them at the suggestion of my PT for about a week but found they had no effect whatsoever. Though that may say more about my strength of desire for sweet stuff. Got them at Holland Barrett.0

Hm, well I've got a bit of information here on Chromium, and it appears to have links with diabetes. It's (and I'm quoting here): associated with the release of the hormone insulin from the pancreas which metabolises sugar in the body.
I'm guessing some Daily Mail article went on to claim that using Chromium supplements will prevent sugar cravings, but I don't think there is any actual evidence for this.0 -

Thanks to all who replied to my post. I've bought some chromium and will give it a fair go and make my mind up after a few weeks. I'm pretty sceptical about a lot of things, so tend to talk myself out of trying new things, but unless you try, you'll never know...
Again, many thanks!0 -

The secret is: the less sugars you eat, the less you need them.0
