MsBlonde - sounds like you've had a lucky escape from such a vile pool of people! I only hope you don't have to use any of them for future references...?

I would be very tempted to make them pay in some way though! It sounds like whoever replaces you will have a similarly hard time and so the nasty cycle continues with these yobs thinking they control things.
Do you not have a Union? ANYone who you could convince to listen impartially? Failing that, what about your local newspaper - they love stories about injustice and bullying....

    Just saying :D

If reasons not already covered by OP's email, I would decline.

Otherwise, POLITELY explain the problems you've experienced.. maybe others had complained, but nothing came of it?

If its just the boss thats forcing you out, and the firm values you, they may be able to do something..
breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??

Problem is when I was hired, we had an amazing manager, he made them all work hard, since he left (a new job because he himself even warned me about them, telling me they love to dish it out but can't take it), they were also pretty nasty to him...

Then we had a new assistant manager, manager (who use to both work together elsewhere, the manager basically hired his friend), and it seems he will be hiring his old flatmate too before I left, he came in and told me he'd be working with us soon.

The old senior member of staff use to be a manager, but demoted because he wanted to be part time and didn't want responsibility, seems to think since he's been there 10 years, this gives him the right to potter around between smoke and tea breaks.

Then we have other members of staff who are too busy with their noses up both the managers ***ses, who also think they've been there long enough to pass their jobs down to the newer members of staff so they can sit and chat all day, for example, making myself and a newer member of staff work outside in the pouring rain with the incorrect safety gear picking up waste bags which they were too lazy to take to the bin, and instead piled up for months on end. There was rats, glass and god knows what else... we were soaked, I only had my work shirt (no coat) we were given some gloves and they were questionable.... I looked at the other members of staff as they all smirked. I will point out it's not in my job description to be a bin man lol but that day I think I was one, took us ALL day to clear it.

The members of staff are very close knit, I care for none of them, they all treated me poorly and weren't very friendly. Lots of ocassions i'd pass them when they were talking and they would go silent, until I was out of ears reach, they wouldn't talk to me unless it was to belittle me or moan at me.

I won't be using them for a reference, since I don't feel they would be honest anyway... too busy in their own little worlds, I bet they're hating having to do their own dirty work for once, no one to pass their jobs onto.

In my probation I got slammed for how I spoke to a customer, I questioned it, since I'm always lovely and friendly to them. Apparently it was because I went "Riiiiiiight", as in riiiiight, i need to process this information you're giving me.... so this wasn't acceptable, by telling a customer to hurry up and make their mind up (like the senior member of staff said). I asked them had any customers complained about me to any members of staff or contacted HQ, they responded no... however i reported every customer complaint about other members of staff to my manager, who couldn't care less. So why was he moaning about me saying riiiiight?
