Tassimo Bitter?

Hello,
Very sorry if I have put this in the wrong forum.
I'm not exactly a coffee snob, but I bought a Tassimo as I keep buying Starbucks, Costa etc and wanted to save money.
I got the Vivy T12 from Argos for £34 and I'm trying the Costa Caramel Latte (not sure if this helps!) but it tastes very bitter and strong, is this normal? I always thought a latte was creamy and sweet. I've cleaned it through about 10 times and still get this and now tempted to send it back.
Have I just got a faulty model or is this normal, please?
Thank you for any advice

I've not tried the caramel latte as usually stick to Americano. I would imagine that you would need to use 2 different capsules to get the latte, ie one would be the espresso base and then you use the latte one which is in effect the milky one. Have you done this?0

Before you give up and return the machine, try the Carte Noire Latte Macchiato or the Carte Noire Latte Macchiato Caramel, both are nice and sweet.
To me the Costa drinks always taste more bitter than the Carte Noire.0 -
I find the caramel lattes need a good stir and tend to taste sweeter if you let them sit for a while. I agree that the Carte Noire ones are much sweeter and i prefer them but they aren't always available near me. I often just buy the plain costa latte and then add my own syrup so that I can make them as sweet as I want.
I find the Costa americano quite bitter. Anyone got a recommendation for a fairly mild flat white?0 -
I find the Tassimo drinks too strong- but I am a really feeble coffee drinker. It's not the caffeine I find strong it's the taste of the coffee itself.
I fixed this for myself by buying one of the additional hot water things Tassimo sell and adding hot water from the machine to my coffee to taste. https://www.tassimo.co.uk/Accessories/TASSIMO%20Hot%20Water%20DISC%20Green?eshopProduct=951094 Then I add milk (I have to add it separately as I have soya) and it just means my coffee needs a slightly bigger cup and I get more coffee
If you try the Petit Dejeuner (a regular black coffee) or the Caf! Hag (which is a decaf) they don't taste as strong and don't taste bitter either.0 -
As already said, the tassimo drinks need more water adding, otherwise they are too strong and bitter. Just press and hold the button that lets you add more water, during the brewing process. you dnt need the hot water adapter mentioned above, thats just for when you want to use the tassimo as an instant boiler0

I add water, usually double the normal in the Costa Latte. I have one of the water dispensers but that is used for making a cup of tea, instant coffee or hot water for food mixing etc.0
