I said we could just pop back home for the drink but she wanted to make use of the little cafe in the park as she says "if you don't use it you lose it"
Bob - we don't make the 500 mile round trip to visit the in laws very often these days as it was always us doing the trip (hubby works v. long hrs etc limited time off and yet his mum is well off, retired and it would be far easier for them to come to us but hey ho!)
Determined, sounds like you have had a productive day too
Hope everyone else had a good day.Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
Evening everyone, thank you Ally for starting us off this weekend.

This morning I've applied for a 0%, no-fee balance transfer card, ahead of my current 0% rate ending next month. Fingers crossed.
I'll be socialising for free by visiting a friend's house for dinner.
I'll be revisiting my debt paydown goals to see how and where they can be boosted.
I'll be rooting around the house seeing if there's anything I can sell online that I've missed before :-)

Morning all, I hope you're all having a good weekend, it seems to be lasting forever for me which is wonderful!
I took my mum shopping yesterday and though it wasn't a particularly money saving day for me it was for her with me patrolling her shopping :rotfl: She has never had to worry about money (my dad controlled the finances as she is such a spendthrift on anything and everything) but she was actually going to pay £1.75 for 6 eggs when there was a pack of free range eggs sitting next to it for 85p. Why on earth would you pay more?? I think she may have seen the light now though as her shopping was £20 less than she thought it would be
I'm just waiting on a call now to go to collect DS and the tent from his camping expedition last night so they obviously all survived!
Then today is my eldest stepson's birthday and we've all been invited over to his flat for a get together this afternoon. I had a mild panic last night when I realised we've not got an egg for their half sister and we do usually but I think I can *borrow* one of DS's and replace it before he realises. We'll pop in to see the inlaws briefly beforehand as they can't come as FIL is ill.
Dinner tonight may be the full English I've been promising myself for days. The first day I went to cook it and discovered that DS had cooked some of the bits for himself in the night. I've now replaced the missing bits so fingers crossed this time!

Happy Easter Frugal Friends,
I've got lots of stuff lined up for today, so think I'll pop back tomorrow with a sort of 'whole weekend' post. I've managed to do my Easter blog post this morning & went down the garden to pull our gorgeous crop of pink Spring rhubarb, & now I'm off to do something money saving with the lamby leftovers I saved from the bin at Mum & Dad's yesterday :-O
Have a great day all,
