This form seems to have been designed to be filled in "on-screen" via Adobe Reader and does not seem to be printable until all the pages have been completed and you get to the final page. The final page requires a "wet" signature.

Maybe you could take your laptop when you visit the client, and complete the form "on-screen" during the meeting?

Aren't HMRC going to be overwhelmed with pensioners claiming back tax for UFPLS and flexi-drawdown now?

At age 57, I don't really think of myself as a "pensioner"... ;)

Whatever you might like to think, the definition of a pensioner is 'One who receives a pension':

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pensioner

Anyway not really relevant to my question of whether HMRC can cope with the huge tidal wave of tax claims from the pension reforms.

Apologies for my failed attempt at humour then :(

I prefer to think of myself as retired from my last profession.

With regard to the question "Can HMRC cope with the huge tidal wave of tax claims from the pension reforms?", may I ask if you are seeking a precise and definitive answer or am I permitted to submit an opinion?

Well I guess time will tell as to how HMRC will cope but my gut feeling is they won't, at least not very well.

I posted a P55 to HMRC last Monday (27/04/2015). I thought I had read somewhere that the turnaround time was expected to be about 4 or 5 weeks, but I cannot now find that reference. So I'm not anticipating any response before end of May, but perhaps before end of June. Time will tell...

The information in the thread is very useful however, having visited the gov.uk site to download the form it just won't work. I have upgraded Adobe as requested but still nothing. I cannot find anywhere else to get it. Cam anyone help please?

We too cannot download the form. The message does use the word eventually, but I don't think eventually is still waiting after 37 minutes. Hopefully its just because the site is busy.
I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.

I've ignored the message after ten minutes and saved to desktop. Even though the message about "eventually" is still on the screen - I've pressed the save symbol anyway and the form is on the desktop ready to complete as a PDF

Been trying for hours, anyone know how to access the form p55. I just get the Please wait...
If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document. Then nothing. Got the latest version of Adobe but nothing. Thanks
