From April 11th Sainsbury's halving reward points forNectar card holders

from 11 April, Sainsbury's will award Nectar cardholders one point, not two, for every £1 spent

Well they kept that quiet . why haven't they informed cardholders of this change in policy and searched but I can see no mention on MSE or the forums?

I am a regular shopper at Sainsburys but not a big spender. They already reduced the value of points previously. I really resent this gradual but underhand erosion of benefits for loyal customers. I want to withdraw from Nectar and be removed from their database. About to go to their website and see how easy/difficult that is to do.

I thought they'd already done this a few weeks ago- is this another change or the same as the one previously?

Not to me, it hasn't. I searched on the forums could find no recent mention.
perhaps you'd care to link to discussions?

That was posted last October since which many (like me) had not seen, or had forgotten. Was there a more recent reminder? I doubt it. but did Sainsburys directly inform users of this change? I never saw any notification.

The original post may be October - but most recent update is in March. You cannot blame Sainsburys or MSE if you havent been paying attention :)

Actually I can, as no one checks every thread for any possible change that might affect them and its irrelevant if any thread happens to be added to if you never knew it existed . As I said, Sainsbury's failed to directly inform users.

If you choose to shop at Sainsburys then free points are free points, doesn't really matter whether its 1 or 2 points per pound.

Its just a bonus for shopping with them. Its not a god given right to be rewarded for your groceries, its all in the prices anyway.

To be fair, its been in the papers and its on the Nectar website http://www.nectar.com/collect/sainsburys-is-changing.points I am guessing they will email everybody just before or on the 11th of April again having already informed people last year.

Again - it is not Sainsbuys or MSE fault if you failled to pay attention.

I have an email from Sainsburys dated 13th October 2014 giving notice of change - subject "Nectar is changing at Sainsburys - find out how"
