Advice re BR forms and creditor information

I'll try and be breif and concise!

I will be going BR soon hopefully and have printed the forms out online to fill out in advance.

Problem is, I have SO many creditors, I have lost track. I estimate I have around 20-25 creditors (credit cards, loans, payday loans, bank account overdrafts, unpaid contracts, eBay fees etc).

I was getting so much hassle that when I moved I didn't update all of my creditors with my new address/phone number just to give me some space, so haven't received anything for around a year.

I was intending on getting a copy of my credit report to provide accurate details on my BR form, however I don't currently have a bank account as my current account was closed for being overdrawn and is one of my creditors, and most credit file/report website needs a current account debit card that is not overdrawn to verify who you are or to at least set up a direct debt for a "free trial" etc. Experian, CallCredit, Noddle etc have all said they can't provide one.

I even paid for a £2 statutory credit report from Experian who said they cannot verify me as I don't have documentation for my last 2 addresses (I haven't been a bill payer or had bank statements due to a closed account).

I am very worried that I may have CCJs I don't know about due to the time elapsed.

I have considered simply filling out my BR application just from memory/estimating my creditors and rough amounts owed but it would still be VERY inaccurate. I simply cannot remember all of my creditors or the amounts I owe.

So..

Should I just complete the BR forms with a "best guess" which will probably be inaccurate knowing that once BR is granted it will cover everything regardless?

Or..

Is there another way? It is very annoying that you cannot use someone else's bank card to pay for a credit check

I roughly have around £32,000 worth unsecured and know accurate information about the creditor and money owed for about 3 or 4 of my estimated 20+ creditors!

In the end you should not rely on credit reports. They do not show everything anyway, depend on the address history, do not show things defaulted over 6 years ago etc etc.

In the end if you put the best you can that should be enough. Anything you miss will still be covered. Even CCJs.

I'll see if Experian can help with the report though. May jog some memories at least.

    Hi Bokeh,

I understand that you are trying to find details of your past creditors. While your credit report may not contain details of all of your creditors, it is certainly a good place to start, and as Fermi said may help jog your memory on other.

When you apply make sure you provide all of your previous addresses so that any information recorded there in your name will be retrieved on the report.

If we can't identify an applicant at an address, we will ask for documents to help confirm ID. If you are having difficulty supplying the documents we've asked for email your details to us and we will be able to advise on possible alternatives that you could provide.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards
    Neil

I have sent a reply to the email I received in my inbox requesting prove of identity information so just waiting for a response.

Either way, I've managed to find the information I needed via StepChange. They passed over the information I needed over the phone when I was dealing with them yesterday.

Pleased to find out I have no CCJs.

I will wait for the reply from Experian via email, but thankyou for the response on here.
