Marlin Financial

ok so firstly my ex husband died may 2013, in june 2014 as it transpired he had left no will but had a personal pension so I applied for probate on behalf of our son as he is under 18l. In January 2015 the solicitor informed me that an unexpected loan debt had popped up and needed to be paid. after several emails and voice mails telling the solicitors not to pay them they eventually agreed not to release any funds to Marlin Financial.
thanks to this website I have learned a great deal, however I have since found out the debt in question was sold to Marlin in 2005 and would like to know where I stand is there a letter specifically telling the company to how should I say, do one!
I am usually pretty good at wording things but am not sure of how exactly to proceed with this one?
