So many to choose from now. Dessert not so sure on still though.0 -
Redcola, do you have any fruits (fresh/frozen/dried/canned) or baking ingredients, to help us come up with something?
A square of brownie and a scoop of ice cream is a crowdpleaser.
All else fails just buy a trifle or cheesecake (I find in some cases, puddings can be cheaper to buy)0 -
Soup for starters or how about egg mayonaise which is boiled eggs with mayo on a bed of lettuce.
Honey and mustard pork chops with hassleback potatoes and veg of choice.
Pears with chocolate sauce, put a dollop of ice cream in a dish cover with some tinned pears and juice and drizzle over chocolate sauce along with some mixed nuts if you have them.
Homemade cheesecake or a trifle
We are having Eton mess on Sunday that is crumbled meringues with ice cold whipped cream and strawberries bought from the market on Saturday. I hull the strawberries and leave them to steep in a tbsp caster sugar for an hour before I make them up.
Quick, easy and everyone can have them.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Ok, so I defrosted the pork joint so to make the idea of pulled pork. However have just noticed its leg, not shoulder. I have looked online, and it seems leg doesn't do well cooked slowly. Now I have a few hours in which to save this0

Oh dear, I'd do it as a roast dinner instead. Pad it out with stuffing and yorkies.

I do pulled pork with whatever pork I have, OK so shoulder is fattier so can be a bit juicier. I just roast the pork then shred the meat and serve with buns, apple sauce, BBQ sauce and stuffing, people build their own as it were. Always goes down well, kids love the self assembly and can avoid any bits they don't like.
Apple crumble, rice pudding, sponge pudding or a cake for afters?0 -
Only just logged on and seen this. Too late now but for future I have used both shoulder and leg for pulled pork. I have found shoulder easier to 'shred' but it works with either.
What did you end up having?0
