Working soon, need loan to tide me over

Hi,

I'm starting a job in mid-September but need some money to fill in the gap before then. As I'm technically unemployed my bank refused me a loan even though I'll be earning decent money and have all proof necessary that I'll be earning soon (contract etc.)

Does anyone know where I should go to overcome this problem? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How do you manage now - JSA benefits etc??
If so just carry on as now until your first payday.

IMO the bank are right not to lend to you now as a lot of things could go wrong before you start work. What would happen if they lent to you and the job was withdrawn?

Not probably what you wanted to hear but good luck in your new job.

Or maybe you receive money weekly and have to wait a Month before being paid, so carry on as now is not an option. In terms of short-term, low value loans, most mainstream lenders are not interested. You may need to use the Money Shop Cash Till Payday or similar. At £14 per £100 for a Month, it is expensive, but can be very handy. Probably not a great suggestion, but a reasonable last resort.

If you are on JSA they will pay until your first pay day.
