i've been a Specsavers customer for years, having trouble with a new pair of glasses - they're really hurting the part of my ears where they join my head.
i have been back three times now to have them adjusted and they are no better. Specsavers just say to keep persevering but i'm developing a sore behind one ear.
i also got a free pair when i got these glasses, and thought i'd just change to them - only to find my free pair are exactly the same, just a different colour! so i can't do that. i didn't notice this in the store and the staff didn't mention it. i am practically blind without my glasses, so i wouldn't notice when trying them on
is it possible to have them changed completely to a new design?

If you look on the inside of the arm of your glasses you will find something that looks like: 52 - 18 - 135
135 is the Arm length, how does this number compare to your old pair of glasses - Specsavers should have checked your existing glasses. I guess they sold the old stock on the shelf to make a sale and expect you to persevere0 -
they are the same length (that's more by luck than anything else), but it's the actual thickness of the arms that is the problem. my old ones had thin arms, whereas these are thick. i'm not convinced any amount of adjusting is going to help, unless they are really slack and falling down my nose as they are now.
i just checked and the ones i have bought are no longer on the website - so yeah, probably old stock. and the assistant recommended them!0 -

yeah, i saw that too. but it doesn't mention replacement - it's a bit wishy washy really.
i went in again today and they just keep fiddling with the fit of them, even though i said it's because the arms are really thick. but i might as well have talked to the wall.
i will go in again and ask to speak to whoever is in charge i think. of course, my spare ones will have to be changed too - given that they are exactly the same ones.
i've got a blister behind my ear

If it's not third time lucky - make a formal (written) complaint to the Manager of the shop  explaining the problems you are still having - with no end in sight & what do they propose to do about the suffering and blister caused by the poorly fitted glasses.0

The side length is not particually relevant
almost certainly a fitting problem.
The problem may be that it is not possible to adjust the frame to fit properly in which case they will need to supply a diffrent frame.
If you push it up to one of the directors/dispensing opticians it should be sorted.0 -
I was not happy with my last glasses, which kept slipping and even cutting my nose.
I was given a new pair, slightly different, with no problem. I have used Specsavers for years,Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I hope you get them sorted out.
Can I just mention, I too am nearly blind when I have my specs off, so much so I work full time and actually get help to pay for my specs.
I popped in to my As da Opticians last week while doing my shopping, and to my amazement they have again reduced the price of their specs
I got 2 pairs last year for £160.00 (1 daytime pair, 1 sunglasses)
with thinner glass varifocal lenses, anti glare - at no extra cost. Today their price is now £99.00 for two pairs - unbelievable - I have been quoted over £400.00 for one pair from other suppliers.
One word of caution though, I go to another for my prescription as my prescription is complex.Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -
Asda are brilliant. I have asked them how they can be so competitive and they said that it is mainly due to no advertising costs. They get the frames from the same exact same people that Specsavers do, so it is Specsavers taking a huge margin.
Unfortunately for me, I am a very small frame and Asda choice is limited. At the moment, they don't have a model that suits what I'm looking for, even when prepared to be flexible. I hope their next batch will be better as I refuse to pay three times more for what is exactly the same product.0
