Hi,
I paid off Mortgage in December and started a new one with different co (Old one would not mortage my new house)
I borrowed £42,000 4.5 yrs ago.
I payed 352 every month
When i asked for final payment anount this is what i received....
account balance: £41,578
Early repayment charge (Even though it was not fixed rate for any amount of yrs): £415
Arrears charge (I was not arrears) £207
Mortgage discharge Fee: £135
Final Balance £42,645
Is this right..... can the above all be asked for legally??
I have asked for my exit fee back.... i was told i could get £35 back. But i would need to write in and the expected turnaround for my money to come back is 6 - 8 weeks.
Is there anything i can do....
Oh, meant to mention... the early repayment charge applys if i do not give one months notice.... I was not made aware of this when asking them for final balance to clear.
There was not time top give one months notice by the time i had found out about this.
thanks in advance
