Firtly - Don't panic - are you sure that the letter comes from a bailiff, and not just from a debt collector - trying to look like a bailiff?
If the letter is genuine, then you would have receive a County Court Judgement - unless it is for Council Tax.
Could you confirm exactly what the letter says, who it is from, and any more details that will enable us to advise you.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. ok well it was a bailiff. I've had a ccj that i've been making payments on through an online payment service. except i haven't. the payments havent been going through, the online system doesn't accept the card i was using, but never notified me. i guess because it wasn't a big amount (£30 a month) i didn't notice it, and it's gotten swallowed up in other things.
so i went to the county court, and made a payment for some of the amount, and the woman on the desk gave me a for to fill in to extend the deadline for payment, which i need to take back today, at a cost of £35, ouch but not much choice.
i know it's my own fault, and i should have checked. i just need to know what happens now i guess?current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500 -

Still cheaper than losing all your possessions, KM. The courts are, normally, very good at extending the payment period, providing that you have explained the situation - which you have. Try and keep to the payments, now, and you should not be bothered again.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
