Can some please advise is this worth taking to the financial ombudsman because im now in a real mess due to the banks inability to listen or give me options this has caused me to get further into debt and make bad financial decisions regarding what was being paid and what was missed and at the end of the day I'm now in further financial hardship due to all this

Banks are not charities they are businesses. Nor are they in a position to make decisions to advise you how to manage your financial affairs. The FO is a red herring. As the bank has done nothing wrong.

You need to accept that you are where you are and make plans accordingly. Selling up and renting something smaller and cheaper would be a first step.

Look for a better job. Even one that has more overtime or perhaps flexi time meaning you can get a second job.

why don't you contact the FO and ask them?

I'm doubtful but at least you will then know. If they say no deal you are going to have to work out what you are going to do about this.
