Best skincare regime for me?

Mature female (omg nearly 60!) with combination skin, far too many blocked pores, and a few spots around the edges needs a simple but effective cleansing and moisturising regime with the occasional face mask treat that she will actually persevere with.
Please bear in mind that this person has a tendency to think products will work if bought and placed on bathroom shelf. Also she has no wish to place herself in the hands of over made up make up counter madams or to have a professional facial
Quality and effectiveness is more important than cost (within reason, no Creme de la Mer thanks) as this is an Easter Treat
Currently using Decleor Aromacleanse once a day (like it a lot), L'Oreal Micellar Water now and again, L'Oreal Revitalift Laser Renew day and night moisturisers (a present) but skin looks tired and there are too many blackheads
Many thanks for any advice :-)

No 7 has good products for mature skin as far as I know.
Blocked pores can be helped by muslin cloth/hot cloth treatment. Cheap to buy off Amazon. I'd also suggest Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser for that.ally.0 -
using an exfoliator twice a week may also help with the blackheads and dull skin0

The Decleor Aromacleanse is a hot cloth cleanser. I was wondering if the occasional use of a facial oil isn't suiting me and I should use a serum instead?Downshifted

You might like to check out a company called Chuckling Goat. Their goats milk skincare is fab and contains only a minimal number of ingredients (unlike some brands!) and their range of products is used by everyone in one my family, old and young.0

Ah ok! What is your skin type?ally.0 -
The Superdrugs own range called B. is for Beautiful does some AMAZING skincare. It's not very expensive but performs just as well as clarins or Clinique in my opinion. They do a whole range dependant on age and the containers are colour coded so it's easy to match up products designed for your particular age range.
Cleaners wise I know they do a micellar one as I use it regularly. I believe they also do a hot cloth cleanser as well as a fab range of moisturisers and serumsEveryone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
Cleanse tone and moisturise every night. Exfoliate every few days as well and a face pack once a week. Made such a difference to my skin.
A beautician friend advised that cleansing your face properly is the best thing you can do. She said to try a cream cleanser you rub in then wash off with a baby sponge is best. I have to say once I started doing this my skin improved massively!
It is faffy but given the improvement in mine I'm happy to continue.
I have used soap and glory cream cleanser and now using a fancy one but to be honest there's been no difference! What's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -

You should research putting your own urine on your skin, lots of models do it these days. If you can get past your preconceptions it is amazing for your skin0 -
