novice asking about universities superannuation scheme!

hi,

is there anybody who can tell me if this pension scheme is any good? im 26 years old and am working in a university and do not know ANYTHING about pensions. i have joined the scheme and roughly pay £110 pounds a month (6.35% of salary-gross contribution). Employer pays 14% of salary.

To tell you the truth, this doesn't mean much to me! Should i even be thinking about pensions?!

any pearls of wisdom?
thanks in advance

Go for it purply, it's an excellent scheme and that's tons of free money going in from the employer, lucky you. :)
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
