Only fair to provide a balanced view, so I've spoken to my broker finally.
We had a very good chat and he's reassured me about a number of things. I think they're aware of quite how stressed I am about the whole thing and I certainly feel a lot more positive now that I've had the discussion with them.

Give your adviser a break. They are probably trying to process a caseload of about 30 mortgages, and you are simply receiving the level of service associated with a fee free adviser.0

Advice is to provide everything requested, as requested, if you want the Lender's money.
January is the final deadline to submit your self assessment return electronically. You can submit the 2015 return from 6.4.15.
If the Lender says they need three years figures and you only have 2013 and 2014, you need to get 2015 finalised.I am a Mortgage Broker

Provide what they ask, but not more. If you don't give what they ask for, you won't get the mortgage. If you provide more (e.g trying to pre-empt what they may want), they will have to look at it and so could take longer to come to a decision.0

A fee free broker it seems obvious to me will provide less of a service than a paid broker, (just as a cheaper broker will offer less of a service than a really expensive one?)
out of curiosity - are the broker fee refunded if not successful? Or they wouldn't take you on unless they were somewhat certain to get the mortgage?EU expat working in London0
