i thought i had put past behing me, and after few years of moving around, after getting ill from harassment, i bought a house, felt almost clear of old debt problems, except 1 ccj from 2004, not even sure who it was with, as onl old address. never found out as didnt want to draw attention to self and get ill again. Anyways, recently some old debts have found me, but I believe they are statute barred. It was up to 30k, but over 6 years ago on it all i'm almost certain. I had a ccj in 2000, and cant have paid forl ong after that. Problem is i dont know how to find out when my last contact was. I had a big debt with abbey for 10k, about 8 other cards for 1-2k. I believe most or all of these would be written off. My m ain concern is link financial have just tried to write to me, finidng me somehow. i quote "as of oct 16 2001 mbna have assigned debt of 5500 (approx) to us my q's are1 this is not the date that the 6 years started is it, its 6 years from my last contact with mbna, how do i find out? without acknowledging the debtwhich i imagine is well before they sold the debt2 what do you think they will do write to me a few times, trying to wing it, can they doorstep me/knock, if not gone ot court3 what happens if i just ignore themi didnt want to get into debt, learnt my lesson since, and dont want to go down again.please help mse'ersdont let them drag me down againurgent thank you whoever takes time to read this anyone with good knowledge advice, i will be eternally gratefultc
