If you are a commonwealth country or EU passport holder, you can vote. It is a minor point for credit scores, as not everyone is on there by choice or don't meet eligibility.

    updates..

My application was declined by halifax..

But the guy from London and Country wants to do another one..

is the new application gonna be declined straightaway as the previous one has been declined? Is it worth a try or not?

If you keep making mortgage applications and getting declines, it will also affect your credit score as it leaves foot prints on your file. Be sure your next one is one that suits your circumstances.

    Updates for my situation.

I got DIP on 8 April
Broker submitted full application to halifax on 9 April
There was one credit search from Bank of Scotland on 9 April
Broker came back to me ask for proof of address(2 letters) and proof of deposit on 10 April

Does this mean I have passed the credit check and the application goes forward to the next stage? Or is halifax gonna do credit check later?

    thanks in advance!!

    Updates.

We passed the contract exchange data and the plot was reserved by someone else.

One day later, the mortgage application was approved.. What can I do now?

Can I clarify that you have put a mortgage application in for a new build property that you had not reserved? Did you pay a reservation fee to the builder or was it withdrawn after there was no sign of progress??

I reserved it and paid the reservation fees.

But it passed the exchange date and we haven't got our mortgage offer so the builder canceled it.

Immerdiately after they cancel it, someone reserved it. One day after the plot was reserved again by someone else, our mortgage is approved..

Unfortunately you will have to start again. You applied for a mortgage saying you are after for example "Plot 1". All the mortgage information centres around "Plot 1". You cannot decide to go for "Plot 2" instead and use the same mortgage offer.

Had you already instructed solicitors to do the searches?

Have you spoken to the sales centre of the builders to say everything is ready to go??

Is there another plot on the site you are interested in? Is it the same price?

The builder has got a right to cancel a reservation. It happened to me last year. We actually had our mortgage offer in place but it was our buyers who were holding the process up and our builders got impatient. they threatened to withdraw our reservation and did. But as soon as my solicitor heard this she piled the pressure on our buyers solicitors to get the contracts exchanged. My builder said the house would go back on the market until confirmation had been received of exchange. I was lucky as the sales lady we dealt with didnt agree with her bosses and said she would "forget" to take down the sold sign so no more enquiries would come.
