I am out of my fixed mortgage deal and now looking for another, I can (hopefully) get 1.99% for 2 yrs fixed on the outstanding mortgage, but was wondering if there was any better deals out there in view of the current climate.
Also not connected but starting a spring clean and was wondering - How long do you keep your paperwork for? eg House bills, payslips, etc? as I have a tremendous amount and want to start clearing some away,

Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay

Point one
Too many factors that may be relevant to the best choice for you - if you are asking, are there rates less than 1.99%, the answer is yes.
Point two
Buy a scanner and shred all your paperworkI am a Mortgage Broker

Hi
I am currently on a SVR of 2.5% which is 2% above base rate but have seen there are plenty of cheaper deals out there at the moment. Is it worth switching to these or am I better off with what I have? I have complete flexibility with over payments i.e. can pay as much off as I want (although rarely use this). Some of the deals I've seen are as low as .99% fixed for two years but some come with hefty arrangement fees i.e. £2000 in some cases. Does this fee offset the cheaper interest rates? I have a loan to value of 15% as I only need to borrow £90k over 10 years & my home value is £600,000.0 -
Hmm, will see them tomorrow and clear up a couple of gripes I have with them.
Made overpayment but they reduced my payments instead of keeping them the same,
and
was a condition of mortgage that I had to insure building but condition of sale was I had to take an already arranged company - so was insured twice - have been told I should have had the payment refunded to me.
Anybody heard of this?Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -

Nice one!!!
I am on 3.99% at the moment, but looking at your figures, worlds apart.Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0 -
Keep paperwork for at least 6 years. Personally I keep it forever because I'm sad, only shredding the spammy parts.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

1 Goodmorningsunshine!
No where near enough information to give you any idea if 1.99% would be a good deal for you!
LTV, Income, equity, job, age, dependants, credit history all come into account.
2 redanistar!
Please start your own thread if you want answers and 2% tracker with £90K outstanding is a good deal and costs to remortgage to another lender may mean sticking with current lender ( again 5 years left or 30years?)0 -

Me too, I moved 3 years ago and only now thinking - I don't really need these bills from 20 years ago!!! So have kept the last bills (gas, elect, phone etc) showing a zero balance - just incase.
I think, I'm a hoarder and think I have OCD, so twice the work!!!Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0
