Suncream for face

Hi All

The suncream I was using kept causing me to develop pimples so I am looking for suggestions of suncreams that won't cause breakouts.

TIA :T

The only thing that doesn't make my eczema flare up is ultrasun, so if its good for sensitive skin it may suit easily congested skin.

I use Clinique City Block Sheer (SPF25) which has been great for me - not too heavy as my skin would break out otherwise. It also works nicely under my foundation which is a bonus so I use it every day. They also do one in SPF50.

I can recommend Neutrogena Face Shield. It comes in a variety of factors, including SPF100. Feels like a normal moisturiser.

I also use Clinique City Block (40spf i think) and really happy with it. I have dry skin so requires me to put a bit moisturiser before putting it.

Another vote for Clinique City Block - it's a physical sunscreen so much less likely to cause breakouts than chemical ones.

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • I have oily skin and I'm very pale. The best suncream I've found is BIODERMA PHOTODERM AKN MAT FLUIDE SPF30. It is on the pricey side at £10-15 but you don't need a lot, it lasts for ages and smells lovely. And it keeps my face matte under make-up even when it's hot.

I find Clinique City Block exceptionally oily on me.

the only thing I can use that doesn't turn my t-zone into an oil slick is the Bioderma one recommended above. Agree with all Cookie's comments about it.

Neutrogena do a 'clear face' sunscreen which is absolutely fantastic. I think it comes from America so you can't buy it in shops over here, but it is sold on amazon and ebay.
Costs about £15 for a tube so a bit pricy but it absorbs in to my skin so well and doesn't leave any greasy residue or block pores, I think it's worth every penny.

Dermalogica do an oil free sunscreen that might work for you. I have really oily skin and have used their Solar Defense Booster in the past - it's not cheap, but I'm willing to pay a bit more for something that doesn't make my troublesome skin flare up!

Just remember if you wear make up to apply a sun cream that will offer all day/eight hour protection.
