Good luck!!! It will be great to get the credit card gone!!! Keep it up!!!

Thank you! I have updated my signature today with the latest payment... which means in two days I can update again to show a total debt of less than £10,000 :j

As of next month I can, hopefully, pay £400-£500 per month to CC1. Interest doesn't kick in until November so hopefully by then I will have balance low enough that I can get accepted on another 0% deal. The now I am paying interest but only on about £2,000 of the balance which I think is about £30 per month.

I need to get all the extra earning done that I can over next few months! I'll be doing surveys every spare minute :(

I have been waiting all day for statement for CC1 but still nothing! Huh! Really want to see what balance is after interest so I know what it will be after I make a payment tomorrow.

I was wondering if any one could give me some advice on CC2 please? It will be paid off as of tomorrow but I am not sure if I should close the account or leave it open (card already cut up) and not use it? Seems to be a different opinion wherever I look. I did read that it had something to do with the amount of credit open to you and use...but not sure how to work it out...can anyone help please?

    I will have...
    CC1 - £6,700 (approx.) - £7,000 limit
    CC2 - £0 - £1,750 limit
    Overdraft - £2,900
    Next Account - £0 - £5,000 limit

  • Personally I would close the card down, depends how easily you are tempted really.... If you have an emergency fund do you need it?

Thanks mumstheword, don't need it but my credit rating is really low at the moment. I've read that if you have a lot of debt near limit this can lower it. I have never missed any payments so that can't effect it so think that must be only problem? Thought if I left it open and unused it might increase my rating? So confused x

COULD CRY!! Statement has come in for CC1 and I have been charged £12 for going over limit ( which i can't see that I've done) so next months estimated interest is £108!!!! My 0% deal will end early if the charge is correct.

I have mailed them this morning so hopefully they get back to me quickly and can sort it out. I can't even apply for another card because my score is so low at the moment. Totally put a downer on paying CC2 and I'm really worried. Great weekend this looks like it will be

I can't affored over £100 in interest each month and it will take me so much longer to pay off the card.

    Just feeling gutted x

  • Don't panic. If you can't see where you've gone over your limit they might well take the charge off, just see what they say. FWIW, I'd keep the other CC account open, especially as you've cut the card up. It might be that in a couple of months time, they offer you a 0% and then you can transfer across from CC1. BUT you must promise not to use it for anything else!

They've got back to me to say it was on the date of last statement but I think there was an error on their part so hey have credited the charge back (£12) but passed the query to another dept to see if they are able to reinstate the 0%. Really hope that they can as it is due to run until November. Hopefully by that point I can get accepted for another card.

Didn't think of that, thanks. I will leave it open for another couple of months and see what happens. If nothing then I'll close it. Card is cut up and disposed of so I can't use it!

Fingers crossed I can get the 0% reinstated x

Won £30 from a £1 scratch card so have paid that straight to credit card...every little helps :)

I should have £6 in PayPal on Monday from surveys too so will pay that off then as well, might use £2 from expenses envelope to round CC1 to £6,700.

Still hoping they take pity and reinstate my 0% offer.

Cheap weekend for me & DD1! Home arts and crafts and a visit to the park I think :) x
