Tax Year Cut off

Hi, I just had a quick question...

If March 31st is the cut off date for the tax year, in which year would wages earned for March fall in?

My pay date has previously been the 7th of the following month, but I was told last month that the company is changing its pay date to the last Friday of the month. (Pay from March is now late)

Either way, the money owed is payment for work carried out in March, so when I am finally paid, hopefully in the next week, which tax year will it be counted in if it is back dated?

Thanks for your help

In the main, if you're employed, it's all about the date you get the cash. There are exceptions but I can't really tell what might be relevant to you as you've been very vague about what's happened re the change in payment date.

Also the new tax year starts 6th April.
