I Need to Find a New Mortgage...

Options
I have a mortgage with the Co-Op bank. The fixed rate period ended several mionths ago and since then I've been on their SVR payments.
I need to find another fixed rate deal, either with the Co-Op or from another provider.

What is the best method of fimnding martgages appropriate to my needs? Is it simply 'phoning various providers to find out their mortgage deals or is there a "comparison" type site which I could use?

Many thanks

Use a mortgage broker, they have whole market to tailor to your individual needs

I wonder if you need to have reduced spending 3 months prior to re- mortgaging to get a good deal/ approval? as you would when applying for a first time mortgage

It's a remortgage as the OP isn't moving home. Difficult to see where the "first time" comment fits?

OP - ask your current lender about any customer retention products from which you may be able to choose and at the same time, speak to a broker and research remortgage products using something like Money Advice Service;-

I have done most of our remortgaging myself, if you have no financial problems, plenty equity, solid job then many people do it themselves, well in my circle of friends we do.
I think there is a comparison site on money savings expert but Google can help you find a comparison site.

I will be in a similar situation fairly soon, so any heads up on the Co-op retention products would be greatly appreciated.
