A few questions about CIMA

I looking into studying CIMA and I just have few questions.
In Liverpool the Kaplin centre doesn't provide a classroom study their CIMA course. I'm considering just going for the home study. Will this be a lot more difficult to do or is the certificate pretty much entry level into this field.
How long should it take to do all five certificate exams considering I work 35 hours a week 5 - 6 days a week.
What sort of jobs can you get if you just have the certificate exams completed? and what is the rough salary?
If I complete the certificate and get my self a job in this field is it likely that the employer will pay for the rest of my tuition?

I tried CIMA online before and couldn't do it. Switched to evening classes before I managed to pass, and I got an A for mathematics.
You can easily get a job after CIMA IF you have accountancy related work experience. Else it's a useless qualification on its own.0 -
I have 20 days over 20 weeks work experience in the accountancy department for a housing firm before I start the course to see if it is the right job for me.0

Exams on its' own, won't give you qualification. I believe you need pratical experience of 3 years too.
When you pass the entry level, you won't get very senior roles obviously. Entry level is nearly equivalent of AAT. You might get an accounts assistant role or that sort of.
There is no set salary for these. If you are in North, probably somewhere around 15-18k?? considering you don't have many experience.
On the other hand, to study CIMA, you need to register with them first and then pay a fee. You also pay for exams. So it is not simply just passing exams. I have seen people studying for months without realising this. They didn't know the registration bit.
Home study is doable but difficult. Many students around the world study different qualifications but they do study hard. Main advantage of going to a class is that you will learn exam technique.
Study texts can be very daunting and long.I'd at least suggest to try live online classes.ally.0 -
I think home study, distance learning and online classes are quite coomon for the certificate level. Depending on aptitude, experience and drive; some people whizz through this level. It's supposed to be equivalent to the AAT qualification but it obviously doesn't give you the same amount of knowledge.
I don't know anyone who's tried to get a job with just this level of qualification and would expect that you'd get entry level jobs but perhaps beat those candidates that have the same or less experience than you and no qualification. I think CIMA or the AAT list regional pay averages for accountancy related jobs but actual jobs can vary what they pay.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
