Mobile Signal outer hebrides

We are setting off on a trip to the outer hebrides soon and would like to ask which is the best mobile signal for coverage in Barra/Harris/Lewis and Skye.

I am on 3 mobile and am expecting patchy service but thought I would try and get a back up sim for calls and data.

I lived on Lewis for years and visited Harris regularly. I'm on 3 and the reception was always pretty good. Oddly enough I was on Mull & Iona the other day and the reception for 3 and vodaphone was pants

Thanks for that. we are both on 3 so hopefully we will be ok.

I need to be able to contact home regularly so was a bit worried but seems I might be worrying unnecessarily.

Most of my lot in the Outer Hebrides are on Orange if that's any help.

Vodafone has done me OK in most places, incl Skye but on my last trip the west of Lewis and Harris it did struggle a bit.

Vodafone is terrible up here, I was on orange but have just upgraded to EE and it's fine. Signal is limited outside of the main settlements so don't expect 3G but generally you will be fine on 3 for calls and texts.

System

3 have a 2G roaming agreement with EE for rural locations.
It will be limited to voice and text but is otherwise seamless.
