Hi,

I am hoping there might be an easy way to fix this,

Which operating system and web browser is this? Try clearing your browser cache (temporary internet files) - Google it - or download and run www.ccleaner.com which can do the same, plus a bit more. Untick the Yahoo toolbar option when installing CCleaner.

Most bank sites need cookies enabled. Any possibilities this could have been changed?

the program is windows xp and it is internet explorer. I have recently enabled all cookies-used to be a setting that enabled some I think, but that has't helped. I can open up a & l, nationwide (I have accounts with both and they are fine,i can get other pages eg barclays etc, but the halifax won't even open up the first page of the site let alone the sign up page. it just sys connecting and this is there forever and I get cross and change pages or it times out.
    any help appreciated,

I had a similar problem a while ago with another bank - whether this is the same problem as you I do not know. However, my problem was that the IP address I was using was being blocked by the bank. I.P Addresses are assigned dynamically from your Internet Provider and so one I was using was apparently blacklisted - probably by another user who had the IP Address before me.

You can either restart your router to get a new IP.
Or open a Command Prompt and run the following:

    ipconfig /renew

    Thanks
