If they do anything like re enter things on your credit file, that can be fixed too.
So basically, they can play silly bug*ers, but if they do, just post back for advice.

I don't like the idea of them doing anything else to my credit file!
Do i just write to them, detailing what I have from both accounts and ask for a final figure to pay them off?
Or do I ask for a potential figure, not admitting to the debt and then pay that off?
OR do I get a final figure then offer them a partial payment?
Been all over these forums now, my head is full of whats and ifs!

They are not legally allowed to do anything to your credit file, but doesn't stop some of these companies

Should be fine.
write with your name, address, partial account numbers, say you believe they own the account and you require a statement of account.
they will no doubt respond, probably asking you to pay.
Once they do and you have your statements, make them an offer for full and final settlement, but get the response in writing.
