Work pension without employer contribution?

I have just been offered a new job and in the contract it states they offer a pension but do not contribute. Can this be correct?
It doesn't say anything else such as who it is with or indeed if it is a work based pension but I think they would b required to offer this as they are a high street retailer and thus have 100s of employees.
Obviously I will bring it up asap but I guess I am asking 1st is if they can offer a pension and not contribute.
2nd what 'size stage' are work place up to as thus said I think they would b at this and thus offer at least 1%min employer contribution
