PPI policies were not all mis-sold.

The PPI claim may be statute barred if it is over 6 years old.

I could be wrong, but would the likes of Experian have a record of who lent you money all those years ago? They have a free trial (pricey if you forget to cancel it though) so could be worth a go. Or ask your bank. If it's for a PPI claim though it might be a bit late, no harm in trying I suppose.
