The bulk of the issues on Nationwide cases appear to be on direct business.

Our last ten Nationwide cases went as follows;-

    App 18/03/15 - Offer 25/03/15
    App 16/03/15 - Offer 24/03/15
    App 18/03/15 - Offer 25/03/15
    App 21/03/15 - Offer 26/03/15
    App 25/02/15 - Offer 05/03/15
    App 22/02/15 - Offer 27/02/15
    App 13/02/15 - Offer 20/02/15
    App 13/02/15 - Offer 24/02/15
    App 12/02/15 - Offer 17/02/15
    App 02/02/15 - Offer 13/02/15.

They do have their moments, like most lenders. However, their requirements are usually predictable and can be anticipated from the details of the application you intend to submit.

On the DIP issue, this is the first part of the application, so you can have DIP and full app done at different times, or you can go straight through DIP to full application.

However, without a DIP pass, full app isn't possible.

  • We have had some issues with Nationwide (conflicting advice regarding acceptable documents, application deleted from the system at a late stage).
    18/02 Full application
27/03 Offer received in writing. Over 2 weeks after final paperwork submitted.
  • How did you get on? Did they ask for a bank statement?

  • We are also ftb and have just had our mortgage approved with Nationwide (through a broker). We haven't had the offer through on paper yet however we have found the whole process so far amazingly straightforward. All that was asked if us was proof of deposit and latest payslips. No current account statements or anything and all went through from aip to acceptance in around 9 days. I was also worried upon reading some of the reviews but impressed so far. Good luck!
