Part of me thinks this is a good idea, the other part of me thinks the financial ombudsman service would be better off putting their time in to the cases they currently have.

It took two years to investigate an issue I raised which was hardly complex.

Hi,
I complained about a payday loan company. They have declined my complaint but offered me a goodwill gesture which I accepted "in full and final settlement". I have just read through their response again and still disagree with the outcome. Am I able to get the FOS to make a determination on the complaint?
Thanks, G

Hi georgio992,

I’m sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been having with a payday lender.

If you're unhappy with the way the business has looked at your complaint we might be able to look at it for you. It all depends on what they’ve said to you in their last letter. So we can work out if it's something we can help with, the best thing to do is to get in touch and let us know a bit more about what's happened.

You can contact us by emailing us at paydayhelp@financial-ombudsman.org.uk orc all us on 0300 123 9 123.

Kind regards
Amy

Hi!
I currently have a case with the ombudsman. The representative has recommended uphold to the company- Natwest.
I have not yet received the outcome.
If it hasn't already been considered, has anyone asked the ombudsman to consider the time spent in addition?
I have phone bills showing days and days on the phone surrounding this issue.
Would anyone recommend accepting the ombudsmans decision or have people done better initially rejecting the suggested outcome?
Thanks!

Can you advise how long on average payday loan complaints are taking to be dealt with by the ombudsman once escalated from an adjudicator?

Hi giorgio992

There’s no set time for a complaint to be looked at and different reasons can affect why it can be longer or shorter, like waiting for information from the business or how complex the complaint is.

The best thing to do would be to speak to the adjudicator who’s looking at your complaint to see if they can give you a better idea of how long it will take.

If you want to speak to someone you can get in touch on 0300 123 9 123 or send an email to paydayhelp@financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
