House Prices Falling in Wales

Price growth also continued to cool in the North West of England, Scotland and Wales, even though prices in these regions remain some way below their 2007 peak.Indeed, in annual terms, prices in Wales declined by 0.5% in Q1.

In the north west they never recovered back to their peak, and are staying stagnant and may start falling

They are falling everywhere, but in Wales they were already low.

Wales is diverse enough that this really does not mean much. Property prices in some parts of S. Wales (the valleys) have been dropping almost continuously for several years, whereas in other areas they mirror what is going on in London/SE England.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
  • Does anyone know if they've stopped setting fire to holiday homes?

I believe this was once the practice. If they have stopped then that's fine.

If they want higher house prices, they should let the rich tourists own second homes there, without torching them, and benefit from the extra revenue it brings to their impoverished country.

But they are Labour voters through and through, and so with their devolved assembly, they will get what they deserve. Poverty, sheep, unemployment, and a total lack of inward investment. Taxing whatever few 'rich' might still remain in Wales is presumably their secret to coming out of poverty.

Clearly written tongue in cheek. However, such an approach has not done much for the locals in Cornwall so I hear.;)

And people wonder why the Celts like to see you lose in any sport.

We do that very well, without the non-support of the Celts!
