historical pensions

Since starting working way back when, I have always been automatically enrolled in the company pension. However, I never carried them forward or I can't remember whom most of them have been with. Is there anyway of finding out via my NI number if these pensions are still valid and if so, can they be merged into one?
Many Thanks
